Migration Health Physician (MHP)

Detailed Job Description / Requirements:

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking qualified Nationals for the following position in Damak.

VN#NP/07/08 Migration Health Physician (MHP)


GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

Under the supervision of the Chief of Mission (COM) in Nepal for administrative issues and direct supervision of the Chief Migration Health Physician (CMHP) in Damak, Nepal, the incumbent will be responsible for medical examination, referral and treatment of the refugees and migrants in relation to Resettlement Migrant Health Assessment Programmes.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCES:


a) University degree in Medicine

b) Valid license to practice medicine in Nepal

c) Five years experience in clinical medicine (internal medicine, surgery or pediatrics)

d) Thorough knowledge of communicable diseases

e) Ability and willingness to work in difficult conditions

f) Fluency in English, both oral and written, knowledge of English medical terminology

g) Fluency in Nepalese

h) Good computer skills

i) Ability to work harmoniously in a multi-ethnic environment and with persons from different cultural backgrounds.
